Day 4 - Tuesday, May 15th, 2012

Crazy plants and more puppies!

Hi, everyone!

Sorry there was no blog from us students, yesterday; we couldn't connect to the internet in the village. It was also our first day on the service project, and we were very tired after a long morning beginning construction on the playground.

Today, we spent our second of five mornings working. We finished the slides and seesaws and began weaving the climbing net for the slides. It took a bit of creative working to get the rope tight enough within the framework of the net, but we figured it out in the end. This afternoon, we learned about the plantlife in Sarapiqui's rainforests. Along the way, we found an adorable litter of puppies and were thoroughly distracted for a bit. :)

We hope you are having as much fun as we are! We miss you!

Oooooooohhh! THE PUPPIES ARE SO CUTE!!!!

I see you have juice. Be careful of the mucho peligrosso guanabana juice.

I hope someone makes you patacones. I am making lots of food Maryam doesn't like while she's gone.

hi Hope! Hope your week is going well. Those puppies sure are cute! The playground looks terrific so far. You guys are really working hard. Three days and 4 nights left! The yard is starting to bloom, but there will be plenty left when you return. Your bunnies both stayed out partying until 1:30 a.m. the other night and were waiting in their cage. We miss you! Have fun on the raft trip and zip line soon! Love, Mom

Christian, I'm so glad you brought those antibiotics to kill whatever water-borne bacteria you have surely ingested. Your four furry family members miss you and so do those of us less hairy. It looks like you are having a great time and will have some excellent stories--can't wait to hear them!!
